Description

We scored seven real accessibility pull requests from Bootstrap, MUI, VS Code and Storybook against a 12-point rubric. None reached the band the rubric calls normal for an accessibility-mature project. We're building the case studies, rubric, and contribution templates that close that gap.

Issues are tiered so you can self-select:
• tier-a — cold-claimable, no assistive-tech experience needed (#5, #7, #9)
• tier-b — needs lived experience with assistive technology, especially the minimum AT test matrix (#13) and the review rubric (#11)
• Open role: Corpus & Evidence Researcher, 4-5 hrs/week (#15)

Contributors with disabilities are welcome, and we'll adapt communication, review format, or timing — just say so in an issue.

Two ways in:
• On GitHub — start at the pinned "Want to volunteer? Start here" issue (#16)
• No GitHub account needed — signup form at https://oss-infrastructure-initiative.netlify.app/ (scroll to "Register your interest")

A single issue or a few hours a week both genuinely help.
